I'm a client here, yes that means I do drugs.

Staff are nice and they try their best to get things done as fast as possible. The problem is that the system of rules and procedures that they are curved to follow are extremely flawed; which causes wasted time and sometimes money on your end. Overall it makes you hate the place, but at the same time I appreciate it's service greatly.

This is hands down the best clinic I have ever attended. And I am no beginner. It was through the kindness of Jennifer, and the councillors that I am now celebrating 10 years clean. The treatment is not for people who have just "discovered" their problem. It entails drastic life changes, and the medicines used are addictive on their own, but the ponly thing that has gotten me off the streets, and headed in the right direction.

This 5 star review is for "Eureka" one of the main people in charge at this facility. She listens, cares, and has empathy. Eureka has listened to my concerns and fears and has been very helpful. I trust her %100 and this facility is lucky to have a lady like her.

I have no personal knowledge or interaction with the people at BAART. However, anyone who is willing to work at a low-or-no-cost addiction facility is there out of dedication, not the glamour. Drugs strip us of feelings and connection and sometimes it can be a long way back. I'm hoping that our system will change the way addicts are treated and that folks will realize that this is a disease and remove the stigma. That's not to say the behavior resulting in those addictions should be excused or condoned in any way.

As a former BAART employee, I can provide a honest perspective without being beholden to "party" lines. Jason: Sharing a patient’s personal medical information without expressed consent is against State and Federal laws and violates ethical standards of confidentiality. That is a universal mandate. There may be a coincidence, or some apparent correlation with your termination in treatment, but what you allege is certainly not the fact. I will always remember Katie as a kind, fair and dedicated professional. Managing is a difficult job to perform and you guys [*labels deleted*] are not an easy population to serve. Get to know Katie and she will go out of her way to help you. Steven: BAART is not the only game in town, folks, so you can always choose to receive services somewhere else. This is still a free country (pending the current POTUS, lol). You might find, however, that BAART fares quite well when compared to the competition. While working at BAART Richmond, I heard earfuls of ‘stuff’ about other clinics. I knew many clients who drove 30 miles out of their way to remain patients at BAART Richmond. Check it out yourself. Unfortunately, alcohol and drug treatment rates a low priority in the scheme of things. The Bay Area is lucky to have the number of facilities available that it does. Count your blessings. And maybe this is the point: From a holistic view, addiction stems from spiritual privation or a lack of/inability to feel gratitude. Gratitude arises from a sense of feeling connected, being valued and seeking purpose. Got Gratitude? Oh, that elderly nurse you diss happens to be one of most beloved and longest serving employees at BAART (who is not 79 BTW). Who else would have the patience to perform such a menial duty for over twenty years? It's an exacting task. Sometimes there are waiting lines, regrettably. You’re welcome to arrive a time when there is less traffic. A simple inquiry could resolve that problem. Ask.
